404 days…

That is how long Dylan has been on dialysis for the second time. He started with hemodialysis 3x a week in May of 2023. This is the dialysis most are familiar with that takes place at a clinic and through an IV in his arm. Shortly after that he moved to a peritoneal dialysis which was completed at night in his home through the abdomen. The downfall of PD is he has to be “connected” by 7:30pm most nights so he can let the process run and head to work before 6am the next morning.

For over a year he has had to miss social outings and his kids weeknight activities to be home in time and connected just to live.

Dylan and Jaclyn

The good news is for the last several months we have been keeping a secret. Dylan has a second donor and surgery is scheduled for this Thursday!

We are so grateful for selfless people like Jaclyn who come forward to give life to someone they don’t know. The kindness she has shown so far is hard to put into words and we will share more of the story in posts to come 💚

Please keep Dylan and Jaclyn in your prayers for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. 🙏

Traveling with a PD machine takes a lot of planning. It must be carried on, can’t go through x-rays, and needs a Doctor’s Note.

The setup in the hotel room. Supplies need to be shipped to the destination. All this for two nights.
